Back to school!

My sabbatical is over and I am getting ready for the new semester. I am also moving into a new office, in Fairbanks Building 106. Beautiful view from inside my office.

Fall semester officially begins next Wednesday, August 23. I will be teaching three classes: Gender and News: Global Views, Global Media, and Resistance and Rights: Global Women.

Research visit to Michigan State University

As part of my sabbatical, I visited colleagues at the School of Journalism at Michigan State University in East Lansing for three days. I presented some of my current research and started a new project with Tim Vos, director of the School of Journalism. What an interesting few days!

Sabbatical for Fall 2019

Tomorrow will be my last day on campus as I will be working from home during my sabbatical this fall semester. I have some exciting projects to work on, as well as some personal and professional travel plans.

Will miss my suite mates, Tatsiana Karaliova and Scott Bridge

And now: going on sabbatical

After six years of graduate school and six years as assistant professor, the moment has arrived: I am going on a one-semester sabbatical! Most people agree: this is a well-deserved hiatus after years of hard labor. I have many plans and I hope to accomplish my research goals for the semester. I am curious: how do people make the best use of their sabbatical leave?
